Egg foo young plausibly gets rebuffed by the calorie conscious, but done right it feeds a savory Shanghai injected junk food need. Not necessarily a bad thing.Yung's Carry Out is a pretty popular grab n' go joint in Mount Vernon Market Center. Overall, the standard Balto-Chinese fare akin to many of the other 300+ immediate area Balto-Chinese release-the-grease joints. Not necessarily a bad thing.Their version of shrimp egg foo young, that guiltiest of Balto-Chinese pleasures, is pretty good. No epiphanies derived, but certainly head & shoulders above the 2 star glop slopped elsewhere. Not as noticeably greasy. Stick to yo' ribs brown gravy. Portions large and in charge for my $5.65. After twenty years they still wear City Paper's Best of Baltimore Chinese Cheese Steak award on their sleeve. If not friendly, service is certainly efficient. Joint's hectic during lunch rush. Best to order in advance for pick up than at the counter. Absolutely no eat-in.Overall offerings standard. Shrimp egg foo young more stand out. Served with a no nonsense flair. I'm not totally smitten by the joint, but I'll revisit when the egg foo young monkey on my back comes a-screeching again. Not necessarily a bad thing.
